The draft order has been revealed for next week's Schick 3X3 Cup Player Drafts.
The order was revealed in a Zoom meeting involving all teams via a unique process that was designed to cater for the current nation-wide lockdown due to Covid.
Managing the process, League General Manager Justin Nelson (based in Wellington) and League Media Manager Huw Beynon (based in Nelson) used a two-pronged method to randomly draw selections 1 through to 10.
One by one, Beynon randomly drew numbers 1 to 10 in front of the teams, which corresponded with a set of numbered envelopes that Nelson had - the envelopes were previously blank, shuffled and numbered in front of the teams.
Using a 'Snake Draft' to determine the draft order, the team drawn for Pick 1 also gets Pick 20, while the team drawn for Pick 10 also gets Pick 11.
Each team Captain, who has already been previously selected and contracted by each team, will have to make three selections at next week's draft, meaning there will be a third round.
However, in another unique twist, the League will randomly reveal the order for the third round live during the draft (following the second round).
The Player Drafts will be held next Wednesday September 1.
