The Whai Take a Strong W at Home Against the Hoiho

The Northern Group Tauranga Whai (93) defeated the Southern Hoiho (84).

The Whai took the win at home in their last regular season game with Hannah Hank putting up an impressive 23pts and 17asts. The game was very close throughout the first 3 quarters with the Whai and Hoiho trading points and some great defensive plays. Taylah Simmons (15pts) and Lil Dart (16pts) put up some great plays for the Hoiho alongside Jessie Edwards (18pts). However, it would be the Whai that would run away with the game in the end with Shearer (21pts) and Cowling (12pts) putting up some excellent points.

Southern Hoiho (41) defeat the Whai Basketball (36) in their last Rapid League game of the season .

The Southern Hoiho started strong early and continued their momentum throughout the game with Lil Dart putting up 12 pts. While Sophie Locandro (18pts) was very strong for the Whai putting up the most points of any player it would not be enough against a very strong Hoiho team. The Broughton sisters also put up some solid points for the Whai in their first game playing together. Eva Langton (8pts) and Zoe Richards (4pts, 5rebs) had strong finishes in the last quarter to get the Hoiho the win.
