Game Recap

The Pouākai produced a rugged defensive effort at Cowles Stadium, powering to a 37-21 win after allowing the Kāhu only one point in a pivotal third quarter. Emilia Ainley set the tone inside with strong rebounding and efficient mid-range finishing, while Hana Lacey-Rameka and Emma Rogers provided the outside scoring punch that helped Pouākai edge in front 19-16 at halftime. Rogers’ shot-making and Ainley’s relentless work on the glass kept the margin safe as Kāhu struggled to generate rhythm. Azure Anderson and Keeley Tini tried to drag the visitors back into it, but Pouākai’s control of tempo ensured the lead never came under real threat.
