It's only an early snapshot of season 2024, but the move of the G.J. Gardner Homes Tauihi season to October-December, and the added influx of international players, is proving very popular amongst fans.

Game attendances in 2024 for Tauihi games are already up over 80% against 2023, clear evidence that the continued changes and innovations, plus the talent level of players, is striking a chord with fans across the country.

The early leaders when it comes to attendances at games are the ANZCO Tokomanawa Queens, though they have played more home games than any other team to date.

The fans have flocked to Te Rauparaha Arena in the opening weeks of the season where the Queens have set three consecutive attendance records, and with two home games to soon come at TSB Bank Arena in downtown Wellington there is every reason to believe the Queens will break more attendance records before the season is finished.

The BNZ Northern Kāhu also set a new franchise attendance record in their opening game in R1 of the season against the Southern Hoiho, a clash that also celebrated the franchise's new ownership group.

The Queens make up 57% of all League attendances so far (three home games), followed by the Pouākai on 13% (one game), the Kāhu on 11% (one home game), the Hoiho on 11% (two home games), and the Whai on 8% (two home games).

Let's see if the Kāhu, Whai and Pouākai fans can lift those numbers this week.
