Hometown Hoiho comeback against Queens

The Southern Hoiho (75) defeat the ANZCO Tokomanawa Queens (68).

While the Queens came out strong in the first half, it would be the Southern Hoiho that would grind it out to take the win. The Queens came out firing and Hokianga looked mega in the first half of the game resulting in a very solid 16pts. Stella Beck would also prove vital for for the Queens with 19 pts however it wasn't enough against the Hoiho. In the second half, it was all the Hoiho with Claire Jacobs and Jessie Edwards putting up 20 pts each. Paige Bradley (8pts, 9asts) and Jessie Edwards (20pts) also proved to be menacing with their teamwork for the Hoiho which would be the difference and get them the win.

The Queens came out strong and continue that pace all throughout the game with Brooke Basham putting up a stellar 15 pts. The transitional plays for the Queens would allow them to get a strong lead at the end of the first quarter. The Hoiho slowly came back into the game in the second quarter and Zoe Richards would prove very strong with 10pts. The gap between the two teams would eventually come back to 1 point but it would be the Queens that proved too strong for the Hoiho with Briarley Rogers putting up a solid 8pts and 3rebs.
