Game Recap: Whai Power past the Pouākai on the Road

The Northern Group Tauranga Whai (85) have powered past the Probuild ITM Mainland Pouākai (77) for a hard fought victory at Cowles Stadium.

Hannah Hank put on an absolute show along side teammate Snyder to give the Whai the victory. Hank put up an astounding 31 points which surpasses her season high while Snyder put up 12 points and 5 assists. McDowell-White also put in the work for the Whai with 13 pts and 6 assists. The Pouākai showed promise early in the game with Whittle (16 pts) and Yaeger (15pts) leading the team, however it was the fouls that would be the difference in the end.

Sky Broadband Rapid League

The Mainland Pouākai (53) had a picture perfect win at home defeating the Whai (28). 

Emma Rogers (15pts) continued to shine in the Rapid League  going 3 for 3 on points in the first quarter. It was a special game for Rogers with her playing against her sister Sophie (7pts). Esra McGoldrick also continued to make an impact leading the Pouākai with 16 pts. While Broughton (10 pts) and Kirisome (4pts) put in the work across the board for the Whai, it wasn't enough to stop Rogers and the Pouākai to a comprehensive victory in the Rapid League at home.
